    • Story

    Vahid Partovi Nia was born and studied his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Statistics in Mashhad.

    After completing his bachelor degree, he obtained top ranks in the masters national competition. He continued his M.Sc. studies in in Mathematical Statistics.

    He successfully held some part-time positions as university statistical consultant, experiment designer, experiment analyst in automobile industry. He was urban data analyst in municipality before starting his Ph.D. He did his Ph.D. under the supervisiono f Anthony Davison at EPFL and won the Swiss Natinal Science Foundation's prospective researchers to develop his research ideas at McGill Unviersity and Stanford University. In 2011 he joined the department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering of Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal as Assistant Professor in Statistics.

    Since 2017 He joined Noah's Ark Lab of Huawei Technologies to focus more on research and provide a bridge between industry requirements and expertise in academia.
